Senior/Intermediate Instrumentation and Controls Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION
Our company provides a combination of consulting and services to the oil and gas industry based out of Calgary, AB.
We are currently seeking a Senior/Intermediate Instrumentation and Controls Engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop design criteria and standardized specifications

Design and review engineering work packages, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, data sheets and P & ID mark-ups

Sizing of control valves and flow devices
-
Prepare various design calculations used in the discipline
-
Specify instrumentation and control hardware ensuring functionality, material selection, and safety
-
Review and check calculations, design models and drawings and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned

Work with designers in other disciplines in the overall assignment to coordinate designs
-
Work independently and take initiative to research information to complete assignments within the budgeted time
-
Reviewing P&IDs and ensuring instrumentation is correct;

Instrument list, I/O List and Instrument Loop Drawings

Instrument Datasheets, instrument selection, review of vendor submissions
-
Mechanical Package Interconnection Drawings
-
Control Panel Design (PLC/DCS) and Junction Box layouts
-
Write Functional Description/Control Philosophy Documents
-
Cost estimating
-
Control and telecommunications architecture; and
QUALIFICATIONS
-
At least 5+ years engineering experience in the oil and gas industry

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automated Engineering or related

Registered as a Professional Engineer in Alberta

MS Office competent
-
Solid organization and time management
-
Strong interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude

Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written

High level of personal integrity with a strong work ethic
The job is performed in an office environment and site travel may be required, depending on project.
Job Type: Contract
