Senior/Intermediate Electrical Engineer
JOB DESCRIPTION

Our company provides a combination of consulting and services to the oil and gas industry based out of Calgary, AB. 

We are currently seeking a Senior/Intermediate Electrical Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop design criteria and standardized specifications

  • Prepare written technical reports and scope of work documents

  • Design and review engineering work packages, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, data sheets and P&ID mark-ups

  • Develop engineering deliverables, such as electrical load lists, single line diagrams, hazardous area classification drawings/studies, engineering reports/design basis

  • Prepare various design calculations used in the discipline

  • Review and approve electrical equipment material requisitions, bid clarifications, and purchase orders

  • Specify instrumentation and control hardware ensuring functionality, material selection, and safety

  • Review and check calculations, design models and drawings and design documents prepared by others in the group and by material suppliers, as assigned

  • Work with designers and other disciplines in the overall assignment to coordinate designs

  • Work independently and take initiative to research information to complete assignments within the budgeted time

  • Cost estimating

QUALIFICATIONS
  • At least 5+ years engineering experience in the oil and gas industry

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering

  • Registered as a professional engineer in Alberta

  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes including the Canadian Electrical Code

  • MS Office competent

  • Solid organization and time management abilities

  • Strong interpersonal skills combined with a positive, team-oriented attitude

  • Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written

  • High level of personal integrity with a strong work ethic

       

The job is performed in an office environment and site travel may be required, depending on project.
